<description> Kenosha County Parks Department has announced donations have been met for the two Kenosha County Dog Parks. Dog Paws Organization has quite a history with the grass roots of getting the Dog Park rolling in the beginning when we first submitted a Dog Park Proposal for the Petrifying Springs Park location back in 2005 to every city and county official in Kenosha who would listen to our request!Mary Lichter, a Kenosha County Parks employee at the time, contacted us and invited us to tour the park area we proposed. Also, in 2005 and 2006, we attended Park Committee meetings with dog park plans set in place, almost 1000 local signatures on our Dog Park Petition, and we spread the word out into the community by creating this website. Our goal as a non profit 501(3)(c) approved by the State of Wisconsin has and will be educating the public about the benefits of Dog Parks for dogs and their owners, and to promote community awareness about the need for Dog Parks as we have, since 2005 when we were a small community group pushing for a place for our dogs to run free. One example is the Kenosha Dog Park Project Presentation that you can view in the left-hand menu bar near the top. We wrote it specifically to educate people about the importance of Dog Parks, but also for a local fence company to present to his fence association to nominate the Kenosha Dog Park for a fence donation back in 2007. Link: We will continue to support local Dog Park groups and help other ocmmunities educate and lobby for their cause as well. After all of our total proceeds from 2005 to current were totalled, and the expenses to operate the organization were tallied for such expenses as: a refurbished Microsoft computer tower, computer software for creating online educational magazines, annual website fees, printing our busness cards, and organizational brochures, paying an business attorney up front to help us detrmine if we should become an official nonprofit, to purchasign stamps to send out requests for letters of community support, our final monetary donation towards the Dog Park was given to the Paddock Lake donation box at the temporary Dog Park. Even though, we could not contribute $1,000 of dollars, our efforts, determination, and presence in the community has gotten us to where we are today - which is not only one, but two Kenosha County Dog Parks! Congrats to all involved as a whole, without everyone playing their part in the past 5 years, we wouldn&amp;#39;t be where we are today!Donations can now be made directly to the Kenosha County Parks Dog Park fund. Now, you can make your donations directly to the Kenosha County Parks Department! A fund has been set up to accept the donations. The Kenosha County Parks Department are responsible for initiating the buidling process of the two Kenosha Dog Parks once the community donations match the $25,000 the Parks Department will provide. In addition to the two donation boxes located at the temporary Dog Parks at Old Settlers Park in Paddock Lake, and Petrifying Springs Park in Kenosha, you are also able to send a donation check in the mail.Make checks out to: Kenosha County Dog Park Fund Mailing address:Kenosha County ParksP.O.
